I am 37 years old, married to Scott and have two children Luke aged 5 and Hannah almost 2. We live just outside Aberdeen in the north east of Scotland. I wanted to work and having done party plan before knew I could do it around the kids. I chose Stardust because I love the clothes and knew they would sell well because up here they are quite exclusive. I also love the fact there are no targets or pressure to do a certain amount of sales the only pressure is from yourself! At the moment I am spending a lot of time doing Christmas events at primary schools and playgroups to promote myself but I want to concentrate on home parties and coffee mornings which are great because Hannah comes along too and we both wear a Stardust top! |

I'm 31, live with husband Rich and Isaac 8 & Tallulah 21mths. I've recently gone from a SAHM to a WAHM, setting up my own website and party plan business which includes the stardust range. It has taken a long time to get up and running but now I am getting bookings for Christmas fayres and sales from the website it all seems to be coming together. I am lucky enough to be able to at home with the kids while Rich supports us but I wanted to find something I could do from home so I could meet people but also contribute to the family income - I looked at several other MLM/party plan companies (Avon, mini iq, body shop & party lite) but wasn't passionate about their products and didn't like the sell targets and emphasis on signing up others. When I saw stardust's website and the clothes I was really impressed by the styles and after reading about party plan and dropshipping it seemed the perfect company. I could build my business in my own time, kit out my kids in gorgeous clothing, earn decent money on each sale and not be bullied into having so many parties a month or signing up people. Also the staff are incredibly friendly, the forum is a godsend and I'm happy as Larry and not bored and fed up with nothing to do while I'm at home!! I must spend approx 2 hours a day checking emails, reading up on the forum, working on my website or designing new flyers/cards etc... which I can do whilst Lulah is having her nap or in the evenings when they are both in bed. Once the Christmas fayre's start (beginning Nov) I think it will take up extra time but will definitely be worth it!! |

My name is Zoe Teden. I am 29 years old, I live in Choleywood, Herts and I have a two year old little girl called Evie. I had been in retail for 12 years and now I am a stay at home mum and stardust party agent I chose stardust because I loved the product as it was so different and at the time I was just browsing the site for gifts and I stumbled upon the party plan information, so I made enquiries and decided it was perfect to fit around my home life !! During a busy month I could have 4 events or more but I expect to this number to grow as I capitalise on local advertising and repeat custom .Also I have 6 parties for November already booked in so Xmas will be busy. I love the sales aspect of the job and interacting with people , my parties normally last 2-3 hours then i will spend an hour or so doing orders when I get home and an hour or two a week chasing leads and follow up calls. Then I spend an hour every other night researching on the net and planning future parties. I love the product and i have the time to still spend with my daughter which is great, I really enjoy it and i hope to grow my party planning from strength to strength. |

Being on maternity leave with my now 11 month old son, made me re-assess my career. Coming from a background in senior management in clothing distribution processing in excess of 100, 000 units of clothing per week, I knew that I no longer had the drive to go back to my old position. Having my son has changed my work attitude, and made me want to find a work opportunity that would fit around looking after my family. I became an agent with Stardust because of their originality, quality, and choices of shipping /dropshipping. As the agents discount is very generous, I knew it would allow me great flexibility in offering a variety of discounts to my customers, whilst still having enough discount to carve out an income for myself. I wanted to give my business a big push before Xmas, and offered stock at trade prices to friends and family to get the business started. I have spent quite a bit on marketing, but have found that word of mouth is the best recommendation, so offering trade discount has very much paid off, with business openings from many friends of friends. I offer party plan in mum's houses, individual sales, nurseries and playgroup charity / fundraising events, open day's, health clubs etc. I also 'loaned' my business to a local school working with Young Enterprise Scotland, I assisted them in setting up their own business using Stardust, where they sold to staff and pupils in the school, at school events, and at their main event, late night trading in a large shopping centre. Not every function I have promoted my business at has paid off on the day, but it has raised my business profile, and has given me contacts for future events. My main job is looking after my son, so I don't get nearly enough time to put into my business, but I try! My advice would be to talk to EVERYONE about your business, really make use of all of the new mum / baby classes - mum and toddler groups / baby massage / bounce and rhyme etc, because you will find new business in the unlikeliest of places! |
