About Stardust Kids

Stardust Kids Unisex Store

Stardust Kids operated between 1998 and 2020 and is no longer trading. This website has been preserved to hold the history and legacy of the brand.

Here at Stardust we specialised in unisex, gender-free kids t-shirts, hoodies, pyjamas and baby playsuits. We offered the same cuts, colours and designs for both boys and girls.

All our clothes were designed in-house and specially made for us by a small factory we worked with for over 15 years. Our garments were made with high-quality cotton, featured branded woven labels and signature swing tags, and were produced with a strong commitment to ethical and environmental standards. Production was carried out by a small family-run business in India compliant with the ETI Ethical Base Code, and garments were printed in our London workshop where staff were paid above minimum wage and employed on secure contracts. We used Azo-free dyes to help protect the environment.

We were proud to lead the way with kidswear inspired by pop culture, music and youth trends. Our designs reflected contemporary urban language, gaming culture and online influences, alongside a strong love of retro icons and alternative subcultures. Punk, metal and rock-inspired kidswear formed a core part of our collections from the very beginning.

The brand gained wider recognition in 2004 when the V&A Museum selected our Baby Punk range to feature in their Vivienne Westwood exhibition. Over the years, Stardust received multiple awards including Lambeth Best Business and Gift of the Year.

Stardust ceased trading in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the babies who originally inspired the brand has since gone on to launch her own fashion label. You can explore her Y2K and grunge-inspired designs at Dead Pretty.
